Puja & Party: Special Offering to the Spiritual Guide Celebrating Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s Birthday & Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day

June 4th marks the anniversary of Buddha Shakyamuni’s first teaching in this world and also the birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union.

We are delighted to invite everyone to celebrate this wonderful and auspicious occasion! What better way to usher in this new era than making offerings to our kind and precious Spiritual Guide in gratitude for all that we have received over the years, and will continue to receive moving forward!

Following the puja, there will be an inspiring video presentation, and a Community Update presentation made by the managers about some of the wonderful new developments we can look forward to in the months ahead. Everyone is welcome to this auspicious event that marks a new chapter in the development of Kadam Dharma in Los Angeles. How wonderful!

The presentation will be followed by refreshments with time to socialize with Gen Rigpa and other members of our spiritual community. Everyone is welcome.

SCHEDULE:

6:30pm – 6:45pm Video Presentation

6:45 pm – 7:00pm Community Update

7:00pm Potluck and Refreshments’

Cost: Free. Donations are welcomed towards the cost of the food. Also, feel free to bring an offering of vegetarian food or a non-alcoholic beverage if you wish.

Gen Kelsang Rigpa

Resident Teacher and Western US National Spiritual Director. Gen Kelsang Rigpa is an American Buddhist monk, the Western US National Spiritual Director and the Resident Teacher at KMC-Hollywood and KMC-California. He is a close disciple of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, having received lineage blessings and oral transmissions directly from him. Gen Rigpa’s heartfelt and practical teachings are presented with warmth and humor, making them accessible to everyone. He shows the joy of living a spiritual life, and is an inspiring example of Buddhism in practice. Through his clear presentation, he is able to help student discover for themselves how to integrate these timeless teachings into our modern world, making everyday life joyful and meaningful.
