In an uncertain and busy world, both children and parents need a place to go where they can learn to develop harmony and methods for calming the mind and strengthening the family. These classes offer a simple introduction to Buddha’s teachings by emphasizing kindness, respect for others, and keeping a happy heart. In each class there is a short talk, gentle meditation, and an arts and crafts activity related to a Buddhist theme.

Buddha explained that the reason we feel stuck in patterns of behavior is because we grasp at our nature as fixed and unchanging. When we think that way, change is impossible to sustain. Through putting Buddha’s teachings into practice, and cultivating our view in meditation, we discover that change is possible! We can let go of the underlying causes of our negative mental habits.
Eventually we’ll discover that positive change, even profound change, is possible and that we can become the person we wish to be!
